Jacqui O’Keeffe

Jacqui graduated from her Master’s degree in physiotherapy in 2011 from King’s College London and remained in London for 7 years where she worked in both the NHS and in a busy private physio clinic. During this time, she gained extensive experience in treating musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, she trained as a Pilates instructor and she completed Advanced Masters modules in MSK physiotherapy in the University of Hertfordshire. Jacqui found her passion for Women’s Health while working in the Royal Free Hospital, she has had a wealth of experience treating pre- and post-natal conditions from SIJ pain and SPD to pelvic floor dysfunction.

Jacqui loves being part of the multidisciplinary team at the Mardyke Arena Clinic where she set up a successful Reformer Pilates Service and uses this service in her rehab on a daily basis. She has a special interest in pre- and post-natal care, including what is commonly referred to as “mummy MOT’s”. She has also completed Pelvic Obstetric and Gynecology training and is certified to treat bladder and bowel dysfunction relating to pelvic floor dysfunction.

As part of her treatment, Jacqui often utilizes acupuncture and diaphragmatic breathing techniques to restore mind and body connection. Such techniques help to restore core function for low back pain, restore pelvic floor dysfunction and other pelvic and lower limb . These techniques are often implemented while the client is using the Pilates Reformer machine as it allows for more functional rehabilitation as opposed to isolated exercises.
